I am so sorry to read this. Every Friday I checked to see if she had posted Eric & Flynn, knowing how precipitous her health was. Her post yesterday was about the anniversary of Flynn's going OTRB. She will be missed here and welcomed over there.
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely in shock. We had emailed a week or so ago and I know things hadn't been going well with the treatment, and that Jackie was struggling to go on, worried for Ivor. But I didn't realise how dire the situation was, or didn't want to acknowledge it, in my mind. Jackie's passing leaves a huge, gaping hole in the CB and in the hearts of those who knew her personally and via cyberspace. My prayers especially to Ivor now; his loss is beyond all words. 💔😢
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing from her just days ago that she was changing treatment, I never thought this would happen. I am so sorry that I did not know her longer. What a great lady she was and kind to us here. Prayers for Ivor at this time and his heart is broken I know.

Carol & Barrie came to Florida years ago, my husband Vic and I fell in love with them when we all got together ... and it's almost "funny" how I always felt like I'd actually met [in person] Jackie & Ivor, though had not ... as we became so close virtually over many years! May she rest well now, free of the pain, free from the hard fight ... and blessings and strength to dear Ivor in this time of need.

ReplyDeleteThis was a shocking and terrible blow, Jackie's passing. As soon as I saw that onFaceBook posted by Carol and Barrie, I had tears. As with several others I too had the email a few days ago. And the one that Kim spoke of late April. That one was very concerning. I would loved to have met them in person. Re: Ann's words, those CB family we have here in the CB are so embedded in our minds and hearts that when we do meet them in person, at least for me..there is no strangeness at all. Never. It's instant connection. My deepest heartfelt condolences to Ivor. Blessings and strength and peace to you.
ReplyDeleteJackie was a long time friend and we shared a love of ginger cats as well as many other things. I will miss her more than I can say. She was one of the bravest fighters I've ever known.....she will be in my heart forever.
