Just seven months ago, MARIETTE said farewell to her best friend, partner, lifelong companion and beloved husband, PIETER. Together they had shared love and a deep friendship, and the blessings of their faith. Together they traveled the world, adventurers, biking and gardening from their beautiful Georgia home. Mariette wrote of all this, and their sweet kitties Spooky and Tiggy Tiger on her own pet blog. And she never failed to visit with positive and uplifting comments at so many other blogs in the pet community.
It was not long ago, that Mariette herself became ill, entered hospice care, and shared
her final words, written December 10, thinking she would spend the coming Christmas in heaven with her Pieter. And so it was that on December 19, Mariette said her farewell to all things earthly, and
joined her Pieter and her God, Forever. May they both rest, peacefully.

I never knew Mariette but I am sorry for her family and friends. What a beautiful woman she was and she sounds like a wonderful person♥
