During the past year, we've said farewell to over 50 of our beloved pets ... these are the ones

we've posted for on the Cat Blogosphere and on Our Rainbow Friends.  There are no doubt,

many others on social media that have crossed the bridge as well.

Remembering Mariette

Just seven months ago, MARIETTE said farewell to her best friend, partner, lifelong companion and beloved husband, PIETER.  Together they had shared love and a deep friendship, and the blessings of their faith.  Together they traveled the world, adventurers, biking and gardening from their beautiful Georgia home.  Mariette wrote of all this, and their sweet kitties Spooky and Tiggy Tiger on her own pet blog.  And she never failed to visit with positive and uplifting comments at so many other blogs in the pet community.  

It was not long ago, that Mariette herself became ill, entered hospice care, and shared 

her final words, written December 10, thinking she would spend the coming Christmas in heaven with her Pieter.  And so it was that on December 19, Mariette said her farewell to all things earthly, and 

joined her Pieter and her God, Forever.  May they both rest, peacefully.

Millie would love some extra POTP

December 11, Wednesday, Millie had surgery to remove a bump on her eyelid. 

Millie is the Queen Bee K9 at Bird Brains and Dog Tales

I developed a nasty lump on my eyelid that has continued to grow so my parents decided it needed to go. Hopefully the vet will be able to do it under mild sedation so it won’t be as much of a risk for an old girl like me. My parents have been practicing putting that dreaded cone on my head so it won’t seem so foreign when I wake up from my surgery.

So if you wouldn’t mind sending some POTP my way hopefully I won’t have to wear the cone for too long. I’ll make sure my mom does an update to let you all know how I’m doing.
