  1. Madi that was nice to write a POTP-post for my country. Let's hope that it not ends in a riot where more people get hurt or lose their life. We are still shocked that it happened, we thought we were safe, but that was an error, the evil is sadly everywhere. We cross our paws and I bow my head to honor those who lost their life today.

  2. Our world is not very large and the oceans that often separate us grow smaller. We are all members of the human race and all citizens of this planet. We all love, hurt, and cry. Violence that happens in one part of the world used to be seen as something occurring as far away as another planet. But that is no longer the case. Having traveled to Europe shortly after the September 11th attacks in this country, I was touched and humbled by the outpouring of care and concern shown by those we met. I was embarrassed to wonder if the tables were turned if I would be as thoughtful and kind.

Now I sit here in my safe little home and hear reports about the attack in Paris. Paris, such a long ways away from here. And yet not very long. I have touched those streets and breathed the air. I have seen, spoken to, and touched the very people who were attacked. And even if I hadn't, it is possible that not many days would pass before we might encounter one another. W\

We are all brothers and sisters. Even if we speak different languages we are forever bound together by our humanity. So when you viciously attack and kill one of my brothers and sisters, then you have done the same to me.

My heart goes out to those who were directly affected by this attack. I pray that you will be comforted. For those who were harmed emotionally by fear and proximity to the violence, I pray that you will not live in fear but be strengthened by whatever faith you adhere to and the knowledge that there are so many good people in the world.

And finally, I am sorry. I am sorry another act of terrorism has taken place and I am sorry that I know this will not be the last one. Please know that when I turn my light out tonight, thousands of miles away from where you are, I will think of you and hold your welfare in my heart.

Amen... I had posted my own article today last week - how could it be known that it would be so pertinent. M&S echo my sentiments right here in their wonderful comment. As painful as it is, despite the horror, I pray so very hard that there be moderation in response and unity for peace, rather than revenge. The news articles I am hearing at the moment indicate that indeed this balance may be found. Holding Love in heart.... YAM xx

  10. It is still too early to tell who did it, but violence just gets more violence. Violence is NOT an answer to anything.

  12. It is absolutely horrific and my hearts go out to them. My Father was a famous Political Cartoonist for 30 years (Ray Osrin, Google him) and he used to get death threats all of the time. It is beyond my comprehension that anyone could do something like that. Simply horrific.

  13. Such beautiful, heart-felt comments here. We grieve with those in pain. How could we not feel sorrow for those who have lost a loved one or lived through the violence of hatred and terrorism? Thank you for writing this post for Blogville.
