Mom and I received this update today....they would surely
appreciate your purrs, prayers, and virtual hugs....
We just wanted to let you know that we are all hanging-in there. Oumie goes for her 2nd round of chemo tomorrow. Boy, chemo certainly does not pull any punches!! The past three weeks have been pretty rough going with things settling into a "good day / bad day" sort of routine. Oumie has started to lose her hair, which we knew was coming but has turned out to be more traumatic (pardon the dramatic turn of phrase) than any of us, including Oumie, expected, something so simple can be so devastating to the person and their loved ones!! It is kinda funny how something like the loss of hair can have such a huge effect on all of us.
On the bright side, the large, angry , red bumps on top of Oumie's head (which first alerted us to her cancer) have shrunk quite a bit and are nowhere near as sore and angry looking...perhaps a positive sign of good things that may be happening inside her body too.

We're not 100% sure when we will be returning to Blogville, mom has taken quite a bit of strain and herself has good and bad days. What we can assure you is that we are reading and check in with everybuddy, but not commenting and that we will eventually be back. Would you mind letting our friends know that we are still here but just laying low for a while please?
We will continue to keep you posted.
Much love and extra BIG licks,
Wallace and Samuel and mom
Dear Sammy and Wally and ESPECIALLY OUMIE

Oh Wallace and Samuel and Mom: we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for sure. Hopefully, there will soon be more good days than bad.
ReplyDeleteI send all my good wishes to your Oumie... I know the sideeffects are so bad and make us cry... but I hope so much that the chemo can chase the big C away from your Oumie.... POTP to you all...
ReplyDeletesending POPT to all of you, also well wishes and fingers crossed to. My brother had such a hard time when his hair started coming out, they cut it in a burr cut, almost shaved it. that took away the stress of hunks falling out.
