Not optimal news on Abby; while the vet got clean margins on the tumor,
the pathology report came back as a grade 3 mast cell tumor, which means
that it has a high potential for metastasizing. I will take Abby into
the oncologist next Thursday and they will aspirate her lymph nodes to
see if there are any mast cells there, and depending on that result,
we'll figure out what to do next. On the positive, Abby is doing well -
she's eating fine, is crawling the walls with the imposed limited
activity so the surgery site can heal, and her tail is still wagging.
So I'm just going to wait and see what the vet says next Thursday and
try not to stress too much in the meantime. Keep you paws crossed for
her, please!
Oh no. Poor Abby and Liz, my heart goes out to you. I hate to hear this kind of news. Prayers will continue.
